Rodney Hudson

Rodney is a Detroit based artist who works at the PASC Detroit Studio. He makes stylized representational and abstract artworks, drawn from a wide range of references such as situation comedies, landscapes, and artifacts. Although he is mostly known from is quilt like abstractions he refers to as freestyles. He has a unique drawing style marked by casual line-work and simplified forms. He mostly uses watercolor to fill in the shapes of the forms in his drawings with bright contrasting colors to create images that shift between abstraction and realism.
