Bruce Rice
Bruce is a Plymouth based artist working out of the PASC Westland Studio. Bruce's practice is focused on rendering miniature drawings inspired by photographs found in magazines and large stacks of books. Bruce spends time flipping through each page to find his desired image to reference. Bruce's illustrations are delicately drawn using a black ink pen, to which he will add colored pencil to create textured areas of color. Bruce gravitates towards landscape imagery, florals, design objects, and figures. Although his drawings are tiny, he often combines a series of illustrations to create a composition reminiscent of a collage. Bruce has exhibited work at the PASC Detroit Gallery, Detroit, MI (2024).
